Last night, Step Up welcomed 25 students from Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology and The University of Queensland to learn how to use coding in the classroom. Students said they were motivated to attend to expand children’s knowledge and interest in STEM. The QUT STEM for Schools team taught the students how to code using Arduino: an affordable, open-source microprocessor that is a good option for teaching coding in the classroom. Students worked with small robotic cars powered by Arduino.
This was a great intro workshop. I am interested in STEM ideas that I can take to the classroom – QUT Graduate Diploma in Education student
