You can hear from the three pre-service teachers selected to attend the National Science Teachers Summer School (NSTSS), thanks to their blog posts and a wider social media conversation with participating science teachers and institutions. See our #NSTSS Storify record of the event!
Melissa Blacklock (Queensland University of Technology), Gabby Gilmore (University of Queensland) and Gemma Sardoni (Griffith University) have enjoyed an inspiring program of hands-on science workshops, lectures from leading researchers, and visits to scientific institutions. With daily blog posts of their NSTSS experience and their commitment to share insights with QLD peers, these emerging education leaders have clearly gained tremendous professional development and networks in innovative science teaching.
Step Up acknowledge the superb efforts of Gabby, Gemma, Melissa and all participating science teachers, and those at the Australian Science Teacher Association (ASTA) in making the NSTSS such a successful program.
Stay tuned for more news of upcoming opportunities for science and maths pre-service teachers to take part in upcoming programs.
